Our Staff

Dr. W. Stephen Neel has been the pastor of South Columbia Baptist Church for 39 years. Born in Washington, D.C., Pastor Neel grew up in Maryland. He holds degrees from Washington Bible College, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Dallas Theological Seminary. He and his wife Nancy have three children and six grandchildren.

Jim has been a pastor at SCBC for a little over five years. He has undergraduate degrees from the University of Maryland and Dallas Christian College and a graduate degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary. He is currently working toward an MDiv in biblical and theological studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jim and his wife Elizabeth have two boys.

Barb transplanted from Long Island, NY in the years since she graduated from McDaniel College where she completed a Fine Arts degree and a Masters in Deaf Education. Barb has taught children from preschool to high school and has many precious memories of working with children.  Barb started working at SCBC in March 2020 when she decided to change careers. She and her family live in Columbia, MD where Barb enjoys a variety of creative outlets in her free time.
